Helen M. Koval

86, died Friday, November 13, 2009.

Helen was born in Terna, Czechoslovakia on January 1, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Sophie Fetko and Miklus S. Lazor. She immigrated to the United States in 1928, and was formerly of Bayonne for 18 years before moving to Raritan in 1946. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Raritan where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Senior Citizens. She also was a member and financial secretary of Branches 35 and 67 Ladies Jednota. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking and crocheting. Helen was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband John A. Koval Jr. who died in 1994.

Surviving are her daughters, Elaine Walters, Diane Dellibovi and husband Vito and Marian Redlich, son James Koval Sr. and wife Noreen and nine grandchildren, Christina, Peter, Matthew, Leanne, Marybeth, Michael, James Jr., Jessica and Jennifer, and 3 great grandchildren.

Prayers will be said 8:30 am Friday at the Bruce C Van Arsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave., Somerville Followed by a 9:30 Mass At St. Joseph's RC Church, 16 East Somerset St. Raritan. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hillsborough.

Visitation will be 2-4pm & 7-9pm Thursday at funeral home.

Donations can be made to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Raritan
