Walter E. Fuerst
82, died Tuesday October 20, 2009 at his residence.
Walter was born in New York City and was formerly of Piscataway before moving to Toms River in 1993. He was president of Curacao Trading Co in New York City where he was an Import and Export trader for 33 years retiring in 1987. Walter was a veteran of the US Army serving as Sergeant during the Korean War. He was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bound Brook and the Piscataway Elks. Walter enjoyed traveling and was an avid NY Mets and Jets fan. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by all.
He is predeceased by his son Gordon who died 2008.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 61 years, Gertrude L. two sons, Gary P. and his wife Donna and Ronald A. and his wife Mary, and three grandchildren, Mitchell, Lauren and Robert.
Funeral Services will be 10am Saturday at the Bruce C Van Arsdale Funeral Home, Somerville. Interment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
Visitation will be 2-4pm & 7-9pm Friday at the funeral home.
