Mary Jane Gerhard
84, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 at her residence.

Mary Jane was born and raised in Pennsauken, NJ and resided in Neshanic Station since 1959. She was employed as a school secretary for Merchantville High School, 1943-1951, Montgomery Twp., 1973-1980 and the Branchburg Twp. Board of Education from 1980 until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she served as coordinator of the Crafteers, volunteered at the church office, a member of the 60 Plusers and worship and music committee. She also was a charter member of the Branchburg Woman's Club since 1961, where she was past president and served as current trustee, and was also part of the afternoon gourmet group. Mary Jane enjoyed attending Classical musical plays and traveling. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband, William who died in 1993 and a brother, Harold Reehm who died in 2008.
Surviving are sons, Paul, James, Andrew, Stephen, and Jonathan and his wife Debra and one grandson Samuel.

Funeral services will be 10am Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 300 Union Ave. Somerville. Interment will follow in Bethel Memorial Park in Pennsauken.

Visitation will be 2-4pm & 7-9pm Monday at the Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave. Somerville. Memorial contributions can be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Branchburg Rescue Squad.
