Rosalie Zaeko
83, died Saturday October 3, 2009.
Rosalie was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. formerly of Hillsborough before moving to Branchburg in 2003. She was employed as a Sales Associate for Fortunoff in Brooklyn for 20 years and also worked for Stanley Home Products for 10 years, retiring in 1993. She was a former member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Brooklyn. Rosalie enjoyed knitting, reading and was an excellent dancer.
Rosalie who liked to be called "Rose" was an avid Elvis Presley fan who often said, "When I die at least I will get front row seats to an Elvis Concert". We are sure she is getting her wish, a kiss from Elvis and even a scarf.
Her vivacious personality, her straight forward sense of humor and her inner and outer beauty will be sadly missed.
She is predeceased by her husband Powell Zaeko who died in 1996.
Surviving are her daughter Donna Shafer and her husband Larry, her son Robert Zaeko, sister-in-law Julia Bistromowitz, grandson Jeffrey Stier and her step-grandchildren Rachel and Caleb Shafer.
Visitation will be 7-9pm Tuesday October 6, 2009 at the Bruce C VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave Somerville 908-725-3111.
